The Aarhus Convention requests the Contracting Parties to update the implementation reports for each COP. The COP 4 was held in June 2011 in Chisinau, Moldova.

The reports need to be delivered to the UNECE Secretariat in one of the three official languages (EN, FR, RU) 180 days prior the COP at the latest.

Consultation on the Update 
 
The Lebensministerium organised the first consultation process from July 20 until August 20. This participatioun period was shorter than the one for the first implementation report as only an update of the existing report was needed. 

Based on the inputs (external as well as internal), the first draft of the Update was developed and opened again for public comments until November 12.

The final Update was hand it to the UNECE Secretariat by December 10, 2010. All reports were than published by the UNECE Secretariat on the UNECE homepage and discussed at the COP 4 in Chisinau, Moldova.
